Art & Ideas, a thought-provoking series of presentations, offers an enriching complement to the current exhibitions by drawing meaningful connections to the themes explored in them. Through engaging discussions with prominent artists and experts, Art & Ideas provides a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the inspiration, techniques, and perspectives behind the art on display.
Join Hamilton artist Natalie Hunter for an artist talk on her most recent exhibition Through Sunset, Slow Dusk, and Gathering Dawn. Over the past decade Natalie Hunter has produced multilayered and immersive photo-based installations on transparent film. Her work engages with the poetics of time, memory, temporality, chance, perception, and the senses. She often employs the immaterial principles of photography - light and time - with the materiality of sculpture in her installations. With a fascination for both image making and working with materials by hand she explores the slow shifting sensory experiences of light, time, and motion as they relate to memory and embodied experience.
